Teacher Appreciation Week Recap

Good Evening Everyone!

The Teacher Appreciation Week went amazing and I think we were able to show the Teacher's and Staff how much we value everything they do on a daily basis.

Monday - Breakfast - All Staff

Tuesday - Special Gift for the Teacher's - a decorated jar full of thank you notes from the students and an engraved personalized key chain memento.

Wednesday - Special Gift for All Staff - Thank you note with bubble gum!

Thursday - Lunch - All Staff were invited. We had PTL volunteers help with the classes so the teachers and staff could all lunch together.

Friday - Special Gift for All Staff - Starbuck's Gift Card Thank You!

None of the above would have been possible if it wasn't for the time and donations from PTL members:  Melanie Byma, Nichole Stern, Gabe Pratoussy, Christy Simpson and Jen Kampsola.

Purchased 4 chrome books with the funds raised form the Snack & Paint night, as well as a computer storage cabinet w/ lock & charging docks with the matched funds.
-       Does the PTL want to see the receipts for the purchases?
-       How do we want to track the spending of the PTL funds moving forward? Internal Tracking
Auction is May 13th @ 5:30 – Volunteers are still needed to help setup, during and clean up. If you volunteer and are not sitting down to eat at the auction, then you do not have to buy a ticket.
-       PTL & Ms. Glory to discuss at 4/21 Auction meeting how many volunteers are needed and how to solicit help, where there are “holes” and how the PTL can fill them
-       Still need some baskets and auction items
o   Wine Basket – Christy Simpson
o   Wine Tasting for 4


2017 -2018 School Year Fundraising suggestions:
-       Bus rental for field trips (~$700 for Zoo trip):
o   School needs their own bus
-       Trip to Olympia to visit the capital – Jennifer reaching out to contacts
-       Ride Train to Seattle to visit the Science Center & Waterfront
o   Have we talked to Amtrak? Melanie will start the conversation
-       Jet Boat Tours
-       Swim Lessons for 4th/5th graders as a 2-week program: PTL to help supplement the cost
o   Would the Dive Shop on Hwy 99 be willing to sponsor or donate the use of their facilities

-       24 people attended the event
o   More in attendance once the child care was offered

-       Do we want to try to do another Paint night and allow for children to come as well, with a small canvas?

Box Tops - $70 earned YTD - Nichole
-       1st check should be for $49.80 and is in the mail

-       Registered with Guidestar and listed as Faith Baptist Church/Sonshine
-       It will be updated on the 22nd of the Month
Fred Meyer Rewards - Rosemary
-       Receive ~ $100 - $200 every couple of months and it goes towards the general funds
Southwest Washington Day of Giving – Jennifer
-       Scheduled for September 21st
-       must set a goal to share

-       Deadline to submit to participate as a non-profit is June 14th
-       Training in July is required for 1 -2 board members
